My Blogs Gone Cold - It Is Winter Right?

With the new year coming up I’ve been working to set up a few blogs within very specific Niche areas and it’s certainly taken away from the time writing here on my personal blog. I might end up falling into the category of a Blog Gone Bad.

Blogging’s Not Easy

Finding new ways to stay inspired and keep writing on a blog is certainly a challenge for most people and I certainly have gained a massive amount of respect for the bloggers that are getting into it day in and day out. From reading and writing and networking with others the hours online can just fly right by. Having the big picture in mind will make it easier to stay focused.

If your thinking about blogging I would suggest you keep the reasons in mind as to why you started to do it in the first place. Niche writing and blogging is 100% where it’s at and making it your passion will win you success every time.

I’m committed right now to helping my clients achieve their goals online with a variety of new online projects for now. I’ll keep you all updated on the progress that’s going on with them shortly and let you in on exactly what I’m doing if your interested to hear about it.

Know When To Fold Them

There are many risks that come with gambling including the fact that it can cost you alot of your money if you become addicted to the thrill of winning it big. The reward may sometimes outweigh the risk associated when broken down dollar for dollar however most people find they can’t quit soon enough to walk away. I certainly have had a few run in’s with the poker table and it almost always led me back to the bank machine or to my home with my tail between my legs.

No when to quit. Gambling can certainly be a fun if your expectations are set up before you walk into the room or log onto the net. Know you limits first. By giving yourself a budget you can eliminate the urge to dive onto your credit card or the debit card. I usually set myself up with a $20 start and a $50 maximum and leave the card at home.

Do A Bit Of Research

Web Gambling

Web development could be related to gambling. If you’re not developing the skills necessary to be successful you will most certainly lose your time and money. There are people who make a career out of gambling but I know for sure I’m not cut out for it.

Canada Says No Gambling

The chances of hitting the jackpot are slim with gambling in general. If you’re one of the lucky ones congratulations! Enjoy it while you can. Most people who do hit it big love the rush and will likely lose it all. They have not developed the fundamental skills of money management. You have all heard stories of people who hit it big and then lost it all again.

Online gambling is prohibited in Canada but more and more companies seem to be finding there way around the laws by setting up shop in other parts of the world. I know I won’t be dabbling into any actual online gambling per say.

Launching A New Wedding Directory Has Kept Me Busy

Over the past few months I have been actively developing and tweaking our Wedding Directory designed to connect local wedding businesses trying to target their products and services to newly engaged couples from all over Canada.

The Weddings411.ca Wedding Directory is literally in it’s infancy stages of development at the moment.

My current objective is for the following:

• developing website and brand awareness
• driving traffic to the site through link building and seo
• increasing membership subscriptions
• increasing and selling the directory listing and banner sponsorships
• working with bloggers to write wedding related content (celebrity, fashion, beauty, reviews etc)

FREE INTERNET ADVERTISING

If you’re a Wedding Business located in Canada you can list your business and take advantage of some FREE advertising or upgrade for added exposure for $10 a month. The Weddings411.ca Wedding Directory lists businesses in order of proximity to the selected user postal code or designated region for the time being. This allows for relevant results for both the members looking for Wedding Information and the Wedding Businesses.

There are banners within the category in all the regions. There is a huge upside potential.

September - Is it time for School Year Resolutions?

For some of my readers you may in fact be heading back to school. I know Kevin at Blogging Tips was contemplating the idea. September tends to be another good month to reset some of your goals that you might have had in place for the 2007 year. So get refreshed and get on it. There’s still lot’s of time left.

I have decided the month of September will be for refreshing and kicking it up a notch!

Waiting In The Wings - New Content Soon

Ok. So it’s no secret as most of the readers of my blog have been heard I’ve been working on and developing some interesting content in the background over the past month. I’ve also been tasked with helping a few others create their own online outlets and have not kept to a regular posting schedule due to it. Don’t count me out just yet.

I would expect to have some interesting topics and new blogs to share shortly.

Niche Focus

I have been thinking about creating some niche related blogs with more focus. My personal blog here has seemed to taken on a life of it’s own. While some of you have emailed me and told me how much impact some of my posts have had I think it might be time for some change. I’m certainly going to continue with my writing here but not as often as I previously did.

I’m hoping to co-ordinate a team of contributors to help the new blog become rich with great content. I’ll be sharing the blogs address and topic shortly. I have been sitting back and contemplating my next course of action and while I’ve been doing that I have also begun to offer writing skills as a service for hire to other bloggers.

Anyone Can Start Something - Champions Finish Strong! - Steve Welton

Recently I have been working through the many items on my to do list. Balancing priorities I don’t think will ever stop for me. One of the ways I used to prepare myself for intense training days in the gym or on the football field was to think about our quote that a good friend and I stated when things got tough. That friend was a very passionate wide receiver of the Hamilton Tiger Cats. The above quote helps remind me that being a winner is not easy but that if I can just keep on to the finish line that the victory is worth it.

You See It All The Time

People often start out in the achievement of their goals with a passion like nothing before and then slowly over time it begins to fade a little. One of the reasons I think it’s so is the lack of “thinking” that goes on. I have to admit lately my time spent on the Internet has begun to fade. I wrote about promises before so I am intending to have a sit down with myself this coming week and create a more appropriate schedule that ensures I am investing my time in the right areas and moving closer to each achievement.

A Hero

Today was a sad day for the family, friends, comrades, community and anyone who knew Constable Rob Plunkett.

Rob was a York Regional Police Officer recently killed in the line of duty doing what he loved.
